iOS app stopped working

Since this morning (around 7am GMT), the iOS app is no longer working.

The initial syncing of stories is working fine, but when going to read stories, for instance selecting All Stories, no story appear.

There’s some apparent initial network activity shown by the animation at the top left of the iPhone (i.e., just right of the Wifi icon), this stops after a few seconds.

At the bottom of the page, the animation and the text ‘Fetching recent stories…’ remain forever.

I have tried deleting the Profile and reinstalling the latest beta of the iOS app to no avail. As I had just changed the Download images setting to ON, I tried putting it back to OFF, but that didn’t help either.

Below is the Console from the iPhone Configuration Utility when opening Newsblur and then trying to read stories (currently one unread story exists):

The Console file is mangled as angled brackets have been interpreted as html tags, I’ve replaced angle brackets by double square brackets in the below repost:

Update: I just tried the Newsblur iOS app while connected to 3G and then it works perfectly, so this issue happens only when on WiFi.

Using the Newsblur website from Safari on a laptop on the same WiFi network works perfectly fine so there are no connectivity issues.

How many feeds do you have? Can you read individual folders?

The 3G/Wifi difference was a red herring. Same broken behaviour is happening on 3G as well. It just worked the once when I posted the update.

| How many feeds do you have?

Newsblur states 293 sites. Currently I have 9 unread stories.

| Can you read individual folders?

No. I tried All stories, folders, and individual feeds. No story is fetched.

What’s your username? Everything works on the web?

My username is acrostich. Everything works fine on the web.

Today (so far), it’s working again. Have you found and fixed the issue?

Haven’t changed anything, so I’m not sure what the issue was. I checked and everything looks fine.

Thanks. Still working fine.

Weird though as if you didn’t change anything on the server, then nothing changed server or client side and connectivity was fine as the web interface on the same connection worked fine.
