How to turn off all comments within the iOS app?

Is there a preference somewhere to turn off comments within the iOS app? On the web site, I chose “Only show comments from friends” (because there doesn’t seem to be an option to never, ever show comments under any circumstances), but I keep seeing public comments within the iPad app.

Not yet, but I plan on introducing preferences at some point.

Thanks for the reply. In the meantime, it’d be great if it at least took into account the preferences I set on the web site.
