On the newest version of the iphone app, I can see settings per feed that allow listing of stories from old to new (or vice versa), but is there a global setting to control this, like on the website?

Nope, not yet. I amy make one if enough people ask, but I don’t have a single preference window yet in the iOS app and I’d like to keep it that way for as long as possible.
Thanks for the reply. It’s definitely not a necessity, but I tend to read all my feeds at the same time (from oldest to newest) so the per feed setting isn’t as useful for me. What I normally do on the app is scroll all the way to the bottom to get to the oldest story and click “next unread” to work my way up/newer… not ideal, but also not a difficult workaround.
This is a show stopper for me. I’ll have to switch back to Byline which is a shame.
Well you’re in luck! This shipped a version or two ago. You can order feeds and folders by Oldest-first or Newest-first, as well as Unread-only/All stories.
