How can I reduce the iPhone app size?

I have about 100 saved stories, nothing unread in my feed and the iPhone app is taking up nearly 2 gigs! I’m not sure what all it’s storing in there, but is there a way to reduce this to something reasonable, like 500mb? I have already deleted the offline stories and reduced the storage to 100 stories but I can’t think of anything else to try.

Reducing the number of offline stories will reduce that to a few hundred megs. Alternatively turning off offline stories will bring it down to a dozen megabytes. Remember that the storage amount is cached by your device, so re-sync with your computer to recalculate that number after clearing offline stories.
