Sure, tags. But, only if the implementation mimics gmail so you can see all your tags with the illusion of it being a folder

Yeah, if this gets developed it’ll be with tags instead of folders. It’s on the priority list, just pretty low. Need more people who actually want this, since it’s quite a chunk of work.
