Expired certificate coming up?

www.newsblur.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on May 9, 2021, 1:22 PM. The current time is May 9, 2021, 1:37 PM. Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

Whoops! Fixed. The automated certificate creation is live on beta.newsblur.com but I figured it’d be launched by now.

The certificate is due to expire in two days.

Thank you for the warning. I’ve renewed them easily enough but I wonder why my cron job didn’t work. Running it manually worked, so we’ll see if I can find the culprit by September 5th.

it gets worse…

I rewrite all http images to use NewsBlur’s https image proxy. If you could share the url of the http image, I’d appreciate it. Would also help if you could share the feed url (or newsblur.com url when it happens).

Just a heads up, the certificate expires in a couple weeks…

Let’s Encrypt defaults to renewing when you have 30 days left, although there’s nothing wrong with renewing on whatever schedule you like

You know I’ve been battling the cronjob for a year now and it still won’t fire. I’ll look into it again to see why. Thanks for the heads up!

Had a few expire myself so I was keeping an eye on it

I built a little monitoring system for domain registrations and certificate expirations for my own purposes, so I added a bunch of domains, mostly smaller services that I genuinely like.

Best of luck. I’ve spent hours banging my head against Let’s Encrypt trying to get certificates to install and renew on a bunch of platforms. Let’s Encrypt is pretty solid, but a lot of the stuff that talks to it is… Hit and miss.

The certificate expires in a week.

Thanks for the reminder. Cron failed to run the script, so I’m continuing to chase the dream of automatic ssl renewals for a wildcard domain.

Thanks Simon, I saw it in my calendar but hadn’t made it to the forum yet. I have a tool that pulls certificate dates from a list of hostnames and generates an iCal feed so that they appear in my calendar automatically, I added NewsBlur

Thanks for the notice! Looks like the certificate renewal worked, but haproxy didn’t see the new certificate for whatever reason. It’s manually renewed now but I need to figure out why haproxy continued to serve the old cert even though it was reloaded.
