As a NewsBlur user, please provide an option to disable the user interface animations, so I can more quickly and efficiently browse, read, and share items.

Under Manage > Preferences > Disable animations.

This turns off the scrolling and bouncing animations in the River and content areas, but not the folder expand/contract animations in the feed list or the drawer animations on the trainer and sharing pop-ups.
