Bad HTML breaks social features

It seems that an item that was shared by someone I follow has bad HTML (opening anchor tag with no closing tag). This means any of the social tools follow the link in the broken anchor tag.

If you click anyehere in the highlighted area you will follow the link that does not have a closing tag (instead of say leaving a comment)

Looks like a one-time thing, as the feed shows “Something went wrong”.

I do have story rewriting, but I’m not sure why it failed in this case.

Yeah, first time I have seen this so can’t say it is something common. Just thought I would mention it.
