I tend to use newsblur in places where I have very spotty connections (subway, boat), and the fact that some simple operations like mark as read/unread and save are synchronous is very noticeable: in these environments, it sometimes takes 30s+ for them to apply.
It would be nice if these could be queued as background operations, so that you could still continue using newsblur while they are happening.
