There should be an XML-RPC endpoint where site-owners can direct pings once their feeds are updated. Or possibly a custom GET thing to void spam. To give Newsblur users feeds as fast as possible.
Spam is of course a problem. Pinged feed URLs should be compared against a whitelist (list of feeds with active users as subscribers) to mitigate this.
