Actually just a combination of ‘m’ and ‘n’ shortcut. I always have troubles with read/unread items somehow, and first I thought it would be a good idea to mark items as read when leaving them instead of when opening them, but that would actually complicate things when switching to another site.
Selecting the preference of marking items as read manually and having a shortcut r being able to modify the ‘next story’ shortcut behavior so it marks the current story as read and skips to the next-one, would be really nice.
I agree with Sam, the goes to the next unread story.
Marking a story as read is in your preferences and you can set it to only mark as read if you press a key (I think it is , but mine is set to after 1 sec).
Well, but I would like to automatically mark stories as read when going to the next item with something like the ‘n’ key, NOT immediately after selecting it.
Currently you have 3 options:
Do it manually (requires 2 key presses, ‘mark as read’ and then ‘go to next’)
Mark as read after a timeout (which I personally hate)
Automatically mark as read when an item is selected.
I would like to see some behavior that automatically marks a story as read when moving away from the item in question, which is not possible at the moment.
