Add a new "Open in New Tab" option in the Newsblur web interface

In the Newsblur web browser interface, clicking on a post title or choosing to open an original link by right-clicking on the post heading forces the user to jump to the new tab where the original post is opening.

Please consider adding an “Open in New Tab” option that opens the tab without hijacking you away from the Newsblur tab. I like to line up the items I want to read on the original sites in a series of tabs and then read them later without all the hopscotching back and forth.

All in all, I’m really liking Newsblur. Thanks, Hal

Believe it or not, I try to open links in the background. Your browser is forcing the new tab to be active. It’s browser specific, so there’s not much I can do. Would love to hear any other developer’s take on this.

Here’s the relevant code: https://github.com/samuelclay/NewsBlu…

A-ha! Many thanks.

I’m using Chrome in Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion). I’ll experiment with my settings and take a look at Newsblur in Safari and Firefox.

Turns out I can open the new tab in the background in Chrome simply by holding down the Command (⌘) key when clicking on the link.
