Accountbased Newssites?!?

Hi,

is it possible to set an account login for certain news-sites? I can’t find any Topic about that.
I have some pages that require a login to read the complete article.

It is possible, simply use this format: https://username:password@example.com/feed.xml

I have been trying to get this to work with theathletic.com using that format and it does not seem to work. I can use it to login to the site, but when I try and add the .rss feed to newsblur it seems to just hang forever.

Not sure if this is working for me. I am trying with ft.com. I wonder if it works if there is an ‘@’ or ‘:’ in the username or password?
